The Taunus was the family car of Ford Germany, introduced in 1939 and sold under many names until 1994, from the pre war G93A through the 12M, 15M, 17M, 20M and 26M of the 1950s and 1960s to the Taunus TC that shared its bones with the British Cortina. Production in Argentina ran from 1974 and Otosan in Turkey made it to 1994. The smaller and larger lines overlapped, so each model year page here follows the line most in the news that year. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 6 generations: the G93A and G73A (1939 to 1952); the M-series first generation (1953 to 1959); the M-series second generation (1960 to 1964); the M-series third generation (1965 to 1969); the Taunus TC (1970 to 1975); the TC2 and TC3 (1976 to 1994).
