1959 Ford Taunus

Automobiles

The second generation 12M of 1959 was not a new car but a reworking of the 1952 model, and all cars were called 12M though both engines were continued. The one with the bigger engine was called the Taunus 12M 1.5 litre. The 17M P2 sold alongside it as the bigger Taunus. It was named after the Taunus mountain range in Germany and was often a close relative of a British Ford. The Taunus was the family car of Ford Germany, sold under the 12M, 15M, 17M, 20M and 26M names over several generations.
