The Taunus G73A of 1951 had the longer chassis and the streamlined body that distinguished the G93A from the Eifel on which it was based, in sedan, estate and light van forms. It was nearing the end of its run, with a new Taunus 12M following in 1952. It was named after the Taunus mountain range in Germany and was often a close relative of a British Ford. The Taunus was the family car of Ford Germany, sold under the 12M, 15M, 17M, 20M and 26M names over several generations.
