The first Taunus was the G93A of 1939, a development of the Eifel with the same 1172 cc four cylinder engine in a longer chassis and a streamlined body, the first German Ford with hydraulic brakes. War stopped it in 1942 and the G73A resumed in November 1948. Its model years run from 1939 to 1942 and from 1948 to 1952, with no pages for the war years. The Taunus was the family car of Ford Germany, sold under the 12M, 15M, 17M, 20M and 26M names over several generations.
