In 1940 the Taunus G93A was built with the 1172 cc four cylinder engine of the Eifel in a longer chassis and a more streamlined body. War conditions limited production, and in total only 7,128 pre war Taunuses were made, including estate cars and light vans. The Taunus was the family car of Ford Germany, sold under the 12M, 15M, 17M, 20M and 26M names over several generations. It was named after the Taunus mountain range in Germany and was often a close relative of a British Ford.
