The Taunus P5 of 1965 came with a new body and new engines, and the 17M now got a V4 engine of 1.5 or 1.7 litres. The 20M had a V6 engine of 1.8 litres and 82 PS or 2.0 litres and 85 to 90 PS, with a top speed of 158 or 161 kilometres per hour. It was named after the Taunus mountain range in Germany and was often a close relative of a British Ford. The Taunus was the family car of Ford Germany, sold under the 12M, 15M, 17M, 20M and 26M names over several generations.
