The Taunus P6 of 1966 came with new bodies while engines and platform were continued from the P4, and the car with the bigger engine was again called the 15M. The 12M and 15M had a 1.2 to 1.7 litre V4 and front wheel drive, and body styles were unchanged from the P4. The Taunus was the family car of Ford Germany, sold under the 12M, 15M, 17M, 20M and 26M names over several generations. It was named after the Taunus mountain range in Germany and was often a close relative of a British Ford.
