The new Ford P7 of 1967 had a new body with rear lights no longer on the corners, while engines and platform were carried over from the P5. The 20M had a fake air scoop on the bonnet and a new bigger 2.3 litre engine of 108 PS with a top speed of 170 kilometres per hour. It was named after the Taunus mountain range in Germany and was often a close relative of a British Ford. The Taunus was the family car of Ford Germany, sold under the 12M, 15M, 17M, 20M and 26M names over several generations.
