The Otosan Taunus of 1993 was the Turkish version of the Taunus that came from the Argentine production assembly sold to Turkey at the end of 1984. It was easily distinguishable by its remolded panels and still used the old Pinto overhead cam engines. It was named after the Taunus mountain range in Germany and was often a close relative of a British Ford. The Taunus was the family car of Ford Germany, sold under the 12M, 15M, 17M, 20M and 26M names over several generations.
