The Taunus 15M arrived in 1955 with a new and more powerful 1498 cc engine of 55 PS that gave a top speed of 128 kilometres per hour, beside the 12M with the old 1172 cc engine. Both were ponton styled two door sedans, two door station wagons or sedan deliveries. It was named after the Taunus mountain range in Germany and was often a close relative of a British Ford. The Taunus was the family car of Ford Germany, sold under the 12M, 15M, 17M, 20M and 26M names over several generations.
