The Taunus TC, for Taunus Cortina, was introduced in 1970 as a sedan, a wagon called the Turnier and a fastback coupe not offered for the British Cortina Mk III, which shared its construction. It replaced both the P6 and the P7 lines, and the last specifically German Ford was replaced in early 1972. Its model years run from 1970 to 1975. The Taunus was the family car of Ford Germany, sold under the 12M, 15M, 17M, 20M and 26M names over several generations.
