The Taunus of 1990 was one of the oldest designs on sale in Europe, introduced in 1939 and marketed over numerous generations through model year 1994. The Otosan Taunus, made in Turkey, was the last survivor of the name, with the remolded panels that distinguished it. The Taunus was the family car of Ford Germany, sold under the 12M, 15M, 17M, 20M and 26M names over several generations. It was named after the Taunus mountain range in Germany and was often a close relative of a British Ford.
