Ford Transit

The Transit is Ford's family of light commercial vehicles, built since 1965 mainly as a cargo van but also as a passenger van, minibus, cutaway chassis and pickup. It was the first product of the merged Ford of Europe, was sold nearly worldwide, and reached North America in 2015 when it replaced the E-Series van. Chinese partner Jiangling Motors built a licensed version from 1997, and Ford Otosan in Turkey has built it since 2002. The smaller Connect, Custom, Courier and City vans are separate models. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 5 generations: the first generation, Mark I (1965 to 1977); the second generation, Mark II (1978 to 1985); the third generation, VE6 and VE83 (1986 to 1999); the fourth generation, V184 and V347 (2000 to 2013); the fifth generation (2014 to 2026).
