A subtle facelift in 1992 saw fully independent front suspension adopted across the Transit range, while a redesigned floor plan allowed the use of single rather than paired rear wheels on the long wheelbase derivative, further increasing payload. These models can be identified by the slightly more rounded front. The VE6, introduced in January 1986, was Ford's second generation Transit. The facelifted van was sold in panel van, minibus and chassis cab forms.
