In 1998 a 115 PS intercooled version of the turbo diesel became available in the Transit, whose turbodiesels all had an electronic fuel injection pump made by Lucas. The VE83 Transit with its 1994 facelift continued in Europe, while Jiangling Motors in Nanchang built a license built Transit in China. The 2.0 liter DOHC petrol was available alongside the diesels, and the Tourneo minibus continued. In Europe the Transit continued as the VE83 introduced with the 1994 facelift.
