2003 saw a new instrument cluster with a digital odometer in the Transit. The third generation was produced at Southampton in England and Kocaeli in Turkey after Genk closed to Transit production, and offered Duratorq turbo diesels and a 2.3 liter petrol. The Jiangling Motors licensed Transit was still built in China, and the VE83 Transit was built in Vietnam until June 2003, when it was exchanged for the new generation.
