Ford Telstar

The Telstar was Ford's mid size family car for Asia and the Pacific, a restyled Mazda 626 that took the place of the Cortina in Australia and New Zealand and was sold in Japan through Autorama dealers. It came as a sedan and a TX5 hatchback, later with a wagon, over five generations from 1982, and Ford's Mondeo gradually replaced it. It was named after the Telstar communications satellite.
