The Mitsubishi Pajero is a mid-size to full-size four wheel drive SUV that Mitsubishi introduced in 1982, sold in North America as the Montero and in some European markets as the Shogun due to the sensitivity of its original name in certain languages. Renowned for its off-road capability and repeated outright victories in the grueling Dakar Rally, it became one of the best known SUVs from a Japanese manufacturer across Asia, Europe, Latin America and Oceania.
