The second generation Pajero gained unwanted attention in 2002 when TLC member Lisa Left Eye Lopes was killed in a car crash involving one. The Liebao Heijinggang, the first known Chinese Pajero derived model, was produced from 2002 to 2014, and the 4 speed automatic was available only on the 2002 Heijinggang with the V6 engine. The third generation Pajero was in its third year. It was sold as the Montero in North America, Spain and Latin America and the Shogun in the United Kingdom.
