The Bongo is a cabover van and pickup truck that Mazda has made since 1966, also known as the Ford Econovan and the Eunos Cargo, built with rear, middle and front mounted engines. It formed the basis of the long running Kia Bongo range, and was also sold by Nissan as the Vanette from 1994 and rebadged by Mitsubishi as the Delica Cargo from 1999 to 2011. It is named for the African bongo, a type of antelope. After a hiatus of a few years the nameplate was revived in July 2020 on a van and truck based on the Daihatsu Gran Max. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 5 generations: the first generation (1966 to 1975); the second generation (1977 to 1982); the third generation (1983 to 1998); the fourth generation (1999 to 2019); the fifth generation (2020 on).
