The Bongo of 1970 was in its fifth year, a rear engine cabover van with the F800 and the F1000 versions on a 2,000 millimeter wheelbase. It was popular enough that Mazda decided to manufacture a minibus, called the Mazda Parkway, a few years later, shared with the larger Mazda Titan truck platform. It also formed the basis for the long running Kia Bongo range. The Bongo was also known as the Ford Econovan and Eunos Cargo, and it has been built with rear, middle and front mounted engines.
