The Ford Explorer is Ford's mid-size SUV, built since the 1991 model year as the company's first five door SUV and the replacement for the Bronco II. Its name came from a trim package on F-Series pickups. It became the best selling SUV in the American market in 2020, has been rebadged by Mazda, Mercury and Lincoln over the years, and is also built as the Police Interceptor Utility. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 6 generations: the first generation, UN46 (1991 to 1994 model years); the second generation, UN105 and UN150 (1995 to 2001 model years); the third generation, U152 (2002 to 2005 model years); the fourth generation, U251 (2006 to 2010 model years); the fifth generation, U502 (2011 to 2019 model years); the sixth generation, U625 (2020 to 2025 model years).
