The fourth generation Explorer entered production in July 2005 for the 2006 model year and was marketed as all new, though it kept the roofline, body, glass and driveline of the car before it. It rode on a new, stiffer frame and was the last Explorer with traditional body on frame construction and the last built at Louisville and St. Louis, with a 210 horsepower 4.0 liter V6 or a 292 horsepower 4.6 liter V8. Each model year has its own page.
