Ford Explorer (first generation, UN46)

Automobiles

The first Explorer, design code UN46, replaced the Bronco II in March 1990 as an early 1991 model. It was a mid size SUV that shared its chassis with the 1983 to 1992 Ranger pickup, with a 4.0 liter Cologne V6, and came as a three door on a 102 inch wheelbase and a five door on a 112 inch one, competing with the Jeep Cherokee and Chevrolet S-10 Blazer. Trims ran from XL and XLT up to the outdoors themed Eddie Bauer. Each model year has its own page.
