Mercury Grand Marquis

Automobiles

The Grand Marquis was Mercury's largest sedan, introduced in 1975 as the flagship sub model of the Marquis, a stand alone model line from 1983, and the last Mercury built, in January 2011. From 1979 it shared the Panther platform with the Ford LTD Crown Victoria and later the Lincoln Town Car. It was built at St. Louis Assembly in Hazelwood and from 1986 at the St. Thomas Assembly plant in Southwold, Ontario. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 5 generations: the 1975 to 1978 (1975 to 1978); the first generation (1979 to 1991); the second generation (1992 to 1997); the third generation (1998 to 2002); the fourth generation (2003 to 2011).
