1991 was the final year of the first generation of the Grand Marquis, by which time the only other full size vehicle to offer both a sedan and wagon variant was the freshly redesigned 1991 Chevrolet Caprice. The Grand Marquis was a six passenger rear wheel drive sedan with the 302 V8, which was the sole engine through 1991. The redesigned second generation was introduced on 28 November 1990 for 1992. It was built at St. Louis Assembly in Hazelwood until 1985 and then at St. Thomas Assembly in Southwold, Ontario.
