1989 Mercury Grand Marquis

Automobiles

The 1989 Grand Marquis continued the 1988 refresh, with restyled front and rear fascias and an updated dashboard with more wood trim, in GS and LS trims. It was a full size four door sedan, the only Mercury sedan with rear wheel drive and a V8, as competitors such as the Buick Electra and Oldsmobile 98 adopted front wheel drive. The first generation Grand Marquis was built on the Panther platform it shared with the Ford LTD Crown Victoria and the Lincoln Town Car.
