Mazda Carol

Automobiles

The Carol is a Mazda kei car with two lives. The first, from 1962 to 1970, was a four seat rear engined sedan with a tiny four cylinder engine, the first Mazda to carry four passengers and a success that took two thirds of the kei market in its first year. The name came back in 1989 with the Autozam brand, and since then the Carol has been built by Suzuki for Mazda on the platform of the Suzuki Alto, with unique bodywork at first and, since 1998, only as a badging exercise on the Alto. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 8 generations: the first generation (1962 to 1970); the second generation (1989 to 1994); the third generation (1995 to 1997); the fourth generation (1998 to 2003); the fifth generation (2004 to 2008); the sixth generation (2009 to 2013); the seventh generation (2014 to 2020); the eighth generation (2021 to 2025).
