The 550 cc Carol was replaced within four months, as new kei car rules for 1990 allowed a larger engine and 10 cm more body length. The larger AA6 Carol was presented in February 1990, 6 cm longer, with a 657 cc Suzuki F6A engine of 52 PS, and it is easy to tell from its predecessor by its clear headlight covers. Four-wheel drives received a five-speed gearbox. The Autozam brand was Mazda's youthful brand and was used on Mazda's kei cars for some time.
