In 2011 the Carol was in its second year as the sixth generation, a Mazda branded rebadge of the Suzuki Alto that Suzuki manufactured for Mazda, offered with all wheel drive and a CVT like the Alto. It had been updated alongside the Alto at its launch in December 2009, and was sold in Japan as a kei car. The Carol is a rebadged model manufactured by Suzuki for Mazda.
