In September 1963 a four door version of the Carol appeared, shortly after a reshaped combustion head and an upgrade of the engine to 20 PS. The car was powered by a 358 cc water cooled four cylinder OHV engine at the rear, one of the smallest four cylinder car engines in history, and it had a very strong monocoque body and four wheel independent suspension. The Carol complemented the three-wheeled Mazda Mazdago. The Carol was more substantial than the R360.
