Ford LTD (Americas)

The LTD began in 1965 as the luxury trim of the full size Galaxie 500 and became Ford's flagship full size car for its first three generations, with a mid size LTD II alongside it in 1977 to 1979. In 1983 the LTD moved to a smaller mid size platform replacing the Granada, while the full size car was renamed the LTD Crown Victoria. The Taurus replaced it for 1986. The Brazilian and Venezuelan LTDs are separate builds of the same name.
