In 1975 the LTD continued on the second generation platform, the second best selling Ford automobile platform after the Model T, powered by 351, 400 and 460 V8 engines. The Ford LTD 460 Police Interceptor of 1975 to 1978, the C code engine, achieved quarter mile times in the upper 15 second bracket and top speeds in excess of 135 miles per hour. The full size Ford line used only V8 engines. The 1975 LTD was sold as a two door and four door sedan and a station wagon.
