The LTD of 1976 was in its eighth year of the 1969 redesign, an all V8 full size car, with the Country Squire station wagon in the range, and the 460 Police Interceptor as the heavy duty police option. By 1976 about 7.85 million full size Fords and Mercurys over 1969 to 1978 was the sales figure of the platform that would be superseded by the downsized Panther platform in 1979. The full size LTD of 1976 also included the Country Squire station wagon.
