The Nash Ambassador was the top Nash passenger car for three decades. It began in 1927 as a specially trimmed sedan in the Advanced Six range, became a separate eight cylinder luxury line in 1932 that enthusiasts nicknamed the Kenosha Duesenberg, and after the war carried Nash's pioneering unit body construction and the Airflyte shape. It outlived Nash itself, because after the 1954 formation of American Motors the Ambassador name continued on later cars for years. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 6 generations: the Advanced Six and early Eight era (1927 to 1931); the Ambassador Eight (1932 to 1934); the Aeroform and prewar (1935 to 1942); the postwar (1946 to 1948); the Airflyte (1949 to 1951); the Pinin Farina era (1952 to 1957).
