For 1930 the Ambassador left the Advanced Six range and moved into a new series called the Nash Twin Ignition Eight, with an eight cylinder engine carrying two spark plugs per cylinder. The Classic Car Club of America now recognizes the 1930 Series 480 and 490 as Approved Classics, a status it gives to limited production, high priced top end cars of the period, which shows how far the Ambassador had climbed above the plain Nash line.
