The Airflyte body of 1949 was Nash's wind tunnel inspired, fully streamlined design with enclosed wheels, built as a true unit body with thousands of welds and a one piece curved windshield. Seats could recline into a bed. Only sedans were offered, in four and two door forms, and they were built at Kenosha in Wisconsin and at El Segundo in California. Ambassador sales rose strongly with the new body. Its model years run from 1949 to 1951.
