For 1936 the Ambassador Six was added alongside the Ambassador Eight, using Nash's largest in line six in a 121 inch wheelbase car that had earlier been known as the Advanced Six. From 1936 the senior Nash models used identical bodies, and the longer wheelbase, hood, front fenders and subtle trim on the more expensive Eight gave the visual cues that told it apart from the cheaper Six. The Ambassador had previously been sold only with the straight eight since mid 1932.
