The Eterna was a sedan that Mitsubishi built from 1978 to 1996 as the sister car of the Galant, sold in Japan at the Car Plaza stores while the Galant was sold at the Galant stores. It began as the Galant Sigma Eterna, lost the Galant prefix to become the Eterna Sigma in 1980, and had a hardtop in the third generation, a five door hatchback in the fourth, and the SAVA sedan, and it ended in 1996. Its name is Italian for eternal. The Aspire was its real successor. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 5 generations: the first generation (1978 to 1979); the second generation (1980 to 1982); the third generation (1983 to 1987); the fourth generation (1988 to 1991); the fifth generation (1992 to 1996).
