The Galant Sigma Eterna went on sale in March 1978 together with the opening of the Car Plaza dealer channel, as the sister of the Galant Sigma. It differed from the Sigma, which had round four headlamp sealed beams, in using an unusual square two headlamp design among other points. The Eterna was sold at Car Plaza while the Galant was sold at the Galant stores. The Eterna was a sister car of the Galant, sold at the Car Plaza stores of Mitsubishi while the Galant was sold at the Galant stores.
