The Eterna Sigma of 1981 was in its second year as the second generation, a four door sedan sister of the Galant Sigma, with a small front radiator grille and different taillights. It was sold at the Car Plaza stores in Japan, while the Galant Sigma was sold at the Galant stores, and it was the second Eterna since it lost the Galant prefix in 1980. The name Eterna is Italian for eternal, and the Sigma in the name was meant to mean a summing up.
