The new grade EXE of the Eterna went on sale in January 1994 and the LX Extra special edition in May. In the minor change of October 1994, for the 1995 model, the front bumper became the same as that of the Emeraude and the headlights were changed from clear out to black out. The XX-4, equal to the Galant VR-4 in the earlier version, was dropped, and the GT was its successor. The name Eterna is Italian for eternal. The Eterna was a sister car of the Galant, sold at the Car Plaza stores of Mitsubishi while the Galant was sold at the Galant stores.
