A minor change in October 1989 gave the Eterna large bumpers with fog lamps built in, except in the cheap models, added an automatic version of the ZR-4 with 210 PS and raised the manual ZR-4 to 220 PS. The four door sedan Eterna SAVA, based on the Galant, was added. SAVA differed from the Galant in its grille, taillamps and a roof that was lower by 25 mm at the rear end. The SAVA in the name of the four door Eterna comes from a casual French greeting that asks how one is.
