The Eterna of 1987 was in its fifth year as the third generation, a front wheel drive sedan and hardtop of the Car Plaza stores with Cyclone engines and a V6 two liter option from the Debonair V. The hardtop had its front grille, headlamps with yellow bulbs and taillamps changed in the 1986 minor change, and the car was the Car Plaza sister of the Galant, whose sixth generation arrived in October 1987. The Eterna sedan of this generation was a front wheel drive car and a hardtop was added in 1984.
