The S-Max was Ford's attempt to make a people carrier that drove like a saloon, a mid size seven seater built for Europe from 2006 until 2023 and sold beside the larger Galaxy. It was the first Ford to wear the Kinetic Design look, was voted European Car of the Year for 2007, and ended production in 2023 as buyers moved to crossovers, without a direct successor.
