The facelifted S-Max was revealed in 2019. It was sold with no petrol engine, the only engines being different tunes of the 2.0 litre EcoBlue diesel. The S-Max remained a mid size people carrier with a Fold Flat System and three individual seats in its second row, built for Europe. Ford marketed it both as a multi purpose vehicle and as a sports activity vehicle, aimed at buyers who wanted space without giving up driving fun.
