Mazda is the car brand of Mazda Motor Corporation of Hiroshima, Japan, known for the rotary engine, the MX-5 roadster and a design language it calls Kodo. The name first appeared on three wheeled trucks in 1931 and has been on the company's cars since the R360 of 1960. In Japan Mazda also sold cars through the Eunos, Autozam and Efini sub brands of the early 1990s. For decades the brand shared platforms and factories with Ford, which held a controlling stake until 2008, and since 2017 it has been allied with Toyota. Every Mazda model, generation and model year has its own page on this site, and each of them links back to this brand page.
