Toyota Corona

Automobiles

The Toyota Corona is an automobile that Toyota manufactured across eleven generations between 1957 and 2001. On launch it was Toyota's second highest product, just below the Crown, and it was one of Toyota's first models exported to other markets, followed by the smaller Corolla. It played a key role in Toyota's North American success, after the Toyopet had met little success from 1957 and withdrew in 1961, and the company re-entered the market in June 1964 with the third generation Corona. By 1968 the name was also used on a larger platform as the Corona Mark II. It was marketed in Europe as the Carina.
