Toyota Corona (third generation, T40 and T50)

Automobiles

The third generation was introduced in September 1964, one month before the Summer Olympics, and the 1965 model marked Toyota's return to the American market after its temporary withdrawal in 1961. The two door hardtop coupe body was introduced in July 1965, and a five door van came in January 1967. In April 1967 the larger 3P and 2R engines replaced the lesser 2P in most markets, and the car won the 1969 Road Test Import Car of the Year.
