The third generation was introduced in September 1964, one month before the 1964 Summer Olympics, with more modern technology and numerous standard features. A larger 1.9 liter engine was added in 1964, and the coupe utility was produced by the former Central Motors between October 1964 and August 1968. This was the first model year of the Toyota Corona (third generation, T40 and T50), 1964 to 1969, which took over from the Toyota Corona (second generation, T20 and T30); the 1965 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Toyota Corona run from 1957 to 2001.
